• This is the clearest example on the site of why fee basis matters. Surgeon-fee-only headline numbers of $12,900–$28,990 sit alongside all-inclusive numbers of $24,900–$49,800. Adding hospital and anaesthetic back onto the first group closes most of that gap — roughly $7,000–$11,000 on a full procedure.
• Some surgeons decline to publish a price at all, on the basis that the procedure varies too much. That is a legitimate position, not evasion.
• A surgeon’s fee is not the price you pay. Where a provider publishes a surgeon-only fee, hospital/theatre and anaesthetist charges are billed on top and can add several thousand dollars.
• These are advertised starting prices at a point in time. They are not averages, they change frequently, and they vary by state and by complexity.

Reconstructive facial surgery after trauma, cancer excision or nerve palsy is a different matter and is assessed on its own clinical grounds — but we could not identify a specific item number for a reconstructive facelift, and we are not going to invent one.
