About Cosmetic Surgery Help

We publish consumer information about cosmetic surgery in Australia — what it costs, what the rules are, what recovery involves and how to check a practitioner’s registration. This page explains who we are, how we are paid, and what we are not.

Who publishes this site

Cosmetic Surgery Help is published by KnowYourMarket.ai, an Australian commercial intelligence and marketing business.

We are not a clinic, a hospital or a medical practice. We do not employ surgeons, we do not perform procedures, and no one at Cosmetic Surgery Help is a registered health practitioner unless expressly named as such on the page you are reading.

How we are paid — read this first

We earn referral fees. When you submit an enquiry through this site, your details may be passed to a cosmetic surgery provider, and we may be paid a fee by that provider for the referral. That fee is paid by the provider, not by you.

We tell you this up front because you cannot judge what you read here without it. The full detail — what triggers a payment, which providers we work with, and what we do to keep it out of the editorial — is set out on how we make money.

We do not describe ourselves as independent. We are a commercially funded publisher that discloses its funding and cites its sources, and we would rather you judged us on those two things than on an adjective.

What we actually do

Explain the rules

Australia regulates cosmetic surgery heavily: GP referrals, two pre-operative consultations, a seven-day cooling-off period, protected titles. We put the primary sources in plain English and link to them.

Compile published costs

We collect prices that Australian providers publish themselves, plus Medicare Benefits Schedule item numbers and fees, and show where each figure came from and when we checked it.

Set out the questions

What to ask at a consultation, how to read an itemised quote, how to verify AHPRA registration, and what your options are if something goes wrong.

What we do not do

  • We do not give medical advice. Nothing here is a diagnosis, a recommendation, or a substitute for a consultation with a qualified practitioner who has examined you.
  • We do not rank or recommend individual surgeons. We explain how to check credentials; we do not tell you who is best.
  • We do not publish testimonials or patient stories. Australian law prohibits testimonials in advertising for regulated health services, and we do not use them.
  • We do not publish before-and-after images.
  • We do not run discounts, time-limited offers or package deals. These are prohibited in cosmetic surgery advertising in Australia.
  • We do not quote you a price. Only a practitioner who has assessed you can do that.

Holding us to account

If a figure on this site is wrong, out of date, or unsourced, we want to know and we will correct it. Our correction process is described in the editorial policy, and you can report an error through the contact page.

Concerns about a registered health practitioner or about cosmetic surgery advertising should go to AHPRA directly, not to us. AHPRA operates a Cosmetic Surgery Hotline on 1300 361 041, and you can lodge a concern at ahpra.gov.au.
